How rough the path, how hard the way,
To me, it matters not.
The Savior, who has died for me,
I’ll keep him in my thought.
The hardships in this life, I know,
Last only until death,
And if I only bear them well,
With glory I’ll be blessed.
So I will choose to do what’s right,
And holding to the rod,
High as I can, I’ll hold his light,
And follow none but God.
