The Creator’s Art
This two-hour class is for older students only, and has a unique approach to learning the skills of being an artist. The Creator’s Art begins with a study of the first book of Genesis in the Bible, with “let there be light.” Here students learn the principles of light, shadow, and shading.
The lessons continue through the Creation from the scriptures — studying how to draw and paint the heavens (clouds and sky), land and water, plants, animals, and finishing with lessons on drawing the human body. The principles of drawing in perspective and creative cartooning are also included.
Students observe, sketch, paint and share during this 2-hour online class.
Fridays 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

For ages: 12 and older (advanced students only)
Required materials include:
- Scriptures
- Sketch Pad (8” x 10” or 9” x 12”)
- Regular blank 8 ½ x 10 type paper
- Gum eraser (stretchy – comes in a small, square package)
- Drawing Pencils, at least 2 each: 2-B (soft dark lead) and 2-H (harder light-colored lead)
- Good quality colored pencils
- Ruler
- Optional: watercolor paints and artist’s brush
