Standards of Dress, Grooming, and Conduct

Young Ladies

Young ladies should wear clean, modest clothing in good condition and without holes. They should avoid appearing sloppy or inappropriately casual, which means: NO sweat shirts, T-shirts, light colored blue jeans, sweat pants, pajama bottoms, parachute pants, or camouflage clothing.

Articles of clothing which are tight or form-fitting, sleeveless, strapless, backless, see-through or otherwise revealing (including crop tops, midriffs, or blouses with more than the top button unfastened) are unacceptable. Clothing must remain modest while sitting, standing, or working at the desk. Hip-huggers are unacceptable. Dresses and skirts must cover the knees when sitting, and have no slits extending higher than the knee. Shorts are not allowed except while participating in sports. No negative, vulgar, immodest or inappropriate pictures, sayings, numbers or messages are allowed on clothing or other belongings. Hair should be clean and neat, avoiding extreme styles or colors.

Shoes should be worn at all times. Flip-flops, slippers, roller blades, and shoes with rollers in the soles, are unacceptable. Earrings are limited to one per ear, with no other body piercing acceptable. Hats or hoods are not to be worn in the classroom. Satanic symbols or gang-related styles of clothing, jewelry, belongings, grooming or hairstyles are not allowed. Writing across the front of blouses or other clothing is not acceptable.

Young Men

Young men should wear clothing that is clean, modest, in good condition, and without holes. They should avoid appearing sloppy, or inappropriately casual which means: NO sweat shirts, T-shirts, light colored blue jeans, sweat pants, pajama bottoms, parachute pants, or camouflage clothing.

Shirts with collars are required, and all but the top button must be fastened. Shirts that button all the way up the front must be tucked in. Tight, form-fitting, sleeveless or revealing clothing is not allowed. Low-riders are unacceptable. Shorts are not allowed except while participating in sports. No negative, vulgar or immodest, or inappropriate pictures, sayings, or messages are allowed on clothing or other belongings. Hair should be clean, neat, and with no extreme styles or colors. Beards and mustaches will not be allowed except for medical or religious reasons.

Shoes should be worn at all times. Conduct

All Students at Glenn J Kimber Academy must agree to the standards of behavior, which are designed to invite the Spirit of God into the classroom.

Conversation should be free from: swearing or taking the name of God in vain; vulgarity (this includes vocal, written, drawn or gestures); rude remarks to anyone; defiant language of any kind. 

Classroom behavior includes: Treating others with kindness and respect; demonstrating a willingness to learn; and a willingness to support the instructors, student officers, and classroom assistants.  

Courtesy to others is demonstrated by not bringing tobacco, alcoholic beverages, or controlled substances of any kind; not bringing fireworks, fire arms, or weapons of any kind; not bringing headphones, computer games, smart phones, portable CD players, non-related books, or toys.
